The updated policy raises privacy concerns as Google reserves the right to harvest and utilize data from any part of the public web, extending its reach beyond its own services.
This practice prompts a reevaluation of online writing, as users need to consider not just who can see their information, but how it may be used by AI systems like Bard and ChatGPT.
Twitter and Reddit are also implementing changes to protect their platforms and user generated data, such as restricting free access to their APIs, partly to prevent unauthorized harvesting of their content.

TLDR: Speaking of Twitter, Elon Musk attributes Twitter's new limitations on reading tweets to AI companies scraping large amounts of data, affecting the user experience and sparking outrage.
The temporary limits imposed by Musk restrict the number of posts users can access and read, with unverified accounts allowed to view fewer posts compared to verified accounts.
These changes come as part of Musk's efforts to monetize Twitter, including the introduction of API charges and the Twitter Blue pay-for-verification scheme, while focusing on restoring advertiser relationships as the online world takes a whole new shape.

TLDR: Over the last few months, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman conducted a global trip to engage with users, developers, and policymakers gaining valuable insights for AI development and deployment. These are the main insights they took away from the trip.
Worldwide, users and developers showcased the value of OpenAI tools in various applications, from education in Nigeria to public services in Singapore and reducing food waste in France.
Policymakers worldwide are focused on safe AI deployment, addressing risks and maximizing benefits. Ongoing dialogue with leading AI labs and exploring a global framework for managing powerful AI systems are key elements of their approach.
OpenAI's future focus includes improving product accessibility and usefulness, developing governance practices for highly capable models, and unlocking AI benefits through AI literacy initiatives and policy research.
Sidenote: OpenAI has temporarily disabled the "ChatGPT Browse with Bing" beta feature due to concerns about displaying content in unintended ways (such as getting by paywalls and generating information that is resulting in lawsuits). They are working to fix the issue and plan to bring back the feature soon.

TLDR: Dozens of major European companies, including Siemens and Airbus, have voiced their concerns over proposed EU regulations on AI, arguing that the rules could harm competitiveness and fail to address potential challenges.
The companies, in an open letter signed by over 150 executives, believe that the draft legislation could jeopardize Europe's competitiveness and technological sovereignty without effectively addressing the challenges posed by AI.
The signatories, including Renault and Heineken, specifically raised concerns about the heavy regulation of generative AI, which could result in high compliance costs and liability risks, potentially leading to companies leaving the EU and creating a productivity gap compared to the US. They called for a more risk-based approach to regulation and the establishment of a regulatory body of industry experts to monitor implementation.
